Responsibilities include:
- Sit as a committee member for APL referrals.
- Assist Subject Coordinator in the implementation of the crisis preparedness and intervention as a member of District Critical Incident team.
- Support and direct Violence Threat/Risk Assessment, as required.
- Be a VTRA Trainer or being willing to engage in the Train the Trainer process.
- Be familiar with the Miramichi Region Suicide Protocol
- Have all ASIST training up to date.
- Liaise with Social Development, Health, Addictions and Mental Health and local law enforcement as required.
- Sit on District Education Support Services Team and liaise with assigned school-based teams
- Under direction of the Subject Coordinator, support schools with identified systematic needs.
- Support schools in coordinating career development opportunities for students, Career Development Week, My Blueprint, Career/Life Plan Graduation requirement.
- Promote positive student behavior by supporting the implementation and maintenance of Positive Behavioral Interventions & Supports (PBIS) in schools. This will include coaching and modeling with school-based PBIS teams on strategies to promote school-wide positive behavior.
- Consult, coach and collaborate with EST-School Counsellors and ESS Teams, involving work at all tiers of the pyramid regarding strategies related to mental wellness/fitness.
- Work collaboratively with EST-SC personnel to build capacity in schools for the development & monitoring of the guidance pillars as it relates to the NB Comprehensive & Developmental Guidance & Counseling Program.
- Provide orientation, coaching and modeling to support all schools in ASD-N (Restorative Practice, Anxiety Reduction/Self-Regulation Programs, Conflict Resolution & Pro-Social Skills)
- Provide consultation and support in the development of LBGTQ initiatives.
- Provide core training in targeted areas as needed.
- Other duties as assigned by the Subject Coordinator & Director of ESS.
Qualifications and Experience: - Valid New Brunswick Teaching Certificate 6
- B Contract with Anglophone North School District
- Minimum of five (5) years teaching experience in the public school system
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate and build strong
relationships with others.
- Ability to travel between all area schools
