Responsibilities include:

  • Provide support to ESS Teams in assigned schools for the purposes of updating and strategic planning as it relates to the Personalized Learning Plans of students with Neuro-diverse characteristics and intensive behaviours. This includes ongoing monitoring of needs, through formal and informal assessment to address the following areas: cognitive/academic, social-emotional, communication, behavioural, self-help, and play.
  • Support and advise Behaviour Intervention Mentors at the District level when required.
  • Review the IBSPs and behavior programs of students as required and collaborate with school team on the appropriate course for each student.
  • Analyze data to identify plateaus and declines in student behaviour.
  • Conduct functional behavior assessments.
  • Promote the principles of Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) as well as support the development and implementation of ABA programming for students.
  • Remain current with respect to research and Evidence-Informed practices.
  • Promote the structure of RTI as defined within the framework of Positive Behaviour Intervention and Supports (PBIS).
  • Develop solutions to increasingly complex educational and professional issues.
  • Collaborate with DESS and ESS Teams, as well as outside agencies.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Subject Coordinator & Director of ESS.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Valid New Brunswick Teaching Certification
  • Ability to travel between all area schools
  • Minimum of five (5) years' experience in the public school system
  • Master's degree in Education
  • Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) designation, or actively working toward BCBA certification
  • Strong knowledge of and/or certification in individual behaviour planning
  • Strong working knowledge of and commitment to a Response to Intervention (RTI) model
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to Positive Behaviour Intervention and Support (PBIS) and Restorative Practices
