Under the direction of the Literacy Subject Coordinator, the successful candidate will be part of a team supporting adolescent learners to develop skills and competencies in literacy.
Responsibilities include:
- Support the instructional and assessment practices that facilitate learning in middle and high school literacy.
- Facilitate professional learning for educators.
- Support school-based professional learning communities (PLCs) in their use of data-informed decision - making to improve student learning.
- Facilitate district-wide PLCs and common assessment development for middle and high school literacy educators.
- Provide professional learning and support for Academic Support Teachers at the middle school level.
- Create resources and assessment materials to assist with the implementation of middle and high school literacy curriculum.
- Support in the implementation of district benchmark assessments
- Work with schools and the coordinator on middle–high school literacy transition efforts.
Qualifications and Experience: - Valid New Brunswick Teaching Certificate
- B Contract with Anglophone North School District
- Minimum of five (5) years teaching experience at the secondary level in the public school system
- Strong knowledge of curriculum documents, instructional resources, and formative and summative assessment practices
- Experience facilitating professional learning
- Experience leading Professional Learning Communities (PLCs)
- Experience providing school- or district-based assessment leadership
- Experience using data-informed instructional practices
- Demonstrated leadership skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Preference will be given to candidates who demonstrate strength in collaboration, leadership, and communication. Subject to the response of this posting, education and/or experience requirements may be modified.
