Virtual Teacher Lead - High School Humanities (Expression of Interest)

The Anglophone North School District is seeking Expressions of Interest from NBTF staff for the position of Virtual Teacher Lead - High School Humanities. The position entails working from a school/education center, under the direction of the Coordinator for Alternative Pathways for Learning, the successful candidate will be part of a team supporting learners in flexible and alternative learning contexts through high-quality virtual instruction, assessment, and ongoing collaboration with site-based staff.

The successful candidate will:

• Provide Tier 1 curriculum delivery through D2L/Brightspace online platform to learners in Personalized Learning Environments (within schools), Alternative Placements for Learning (off-site), and learners who are Assigned to Home.
• Manage their course load and learner progress through the D2L/Brightspace online platform.
• Be responsible to assess student work, track academic progress, and remain the academic point of contact for students. This includes providing academic check-ins, virtual conferencing on progress or support needed, managing academic PLPs.
• Collaboration with Site Teachers to update on student needs.
• Be responsible for Humanities-based courses including but not limited to English Language Arts, Social Studies, Arts, Personal Wellness, Media Studies, Writing 110.

Qualifications and Experience 

Applicants must possess a N.B. Teaching Certificate, a B Contract with Anglophone North School District, and have a minimum of five (5) years teaching experience in the public school system. Strong knowledge of curriculum documents, resources, as well as formative and summative assessment practices, is essential.

Demonstrated experience using digital tools to support teaching and learning experiences is considered an asset. Strong skills in relationship-building and connecting with learners will be essential to this position.
